We are a Mother daughter team both gluten free and one who is lactose! We have been going strong for 5+ years now and through trial and error have learned the good and the bad!

Recipe: Beacon Hill Cookies


As we were going through recipes in Mom’s cook book we came across Grandma’s Beacon Hill cookies. These cookies are very light, chocolatey, and airy. If you are watching your calories you might want to try these for only about 50-60 calories per cookie since it all depends on how big you make them.


Makes about 2-3 dozen.
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
2 egg whites
1 pinch salt
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon distilled white vinegar



  1. Melt chocolate in a small pot on very low heat. You can use a double boiler if you would like but you don’t have too.
  2. Beat egg whites with a dash of salt. Add the sugar and beat well until stiff peaks form.
  3. Beat in vanilla and vinegar. Fold in melted chocolate with a spatula. Make sure you do not turn on the mixture for folding.

    Drop by teaspoonfuls on well greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) for 10+ minutes. Remove from pan immediately so they will not stick.
