Cupcakery Review: Gigi’s Cupcakes- Omaha, NE
One of my co-workers told me about Gigi’s Cupcakes and that they made some Gluten Free on Fridays and on the weekends. I went last Friday and bought one of their “Miss Princess” cupcakes. It was as their website states: ” White cake baked with fresh strawberries, topped with a cream cheese frosting, pink sugar crystals and a pink fondant crown.”
For myself, I always like to taste just the cake batter of the cupcake, because that is how you know if it is any good. When I tasted the batter, it was very moist and had a creaminess to it. However, the small down side was that there was just too much icing. Maybe I, personally, have gotten used to not a lot of sugar, but for myself it was too much. I will return and try another one that doesn’t have as much icing.
Note- on their boxes they mention this: Despite the fact that we bake and offer cupcakes without gluten, all of our cupcakes are prepared fresh in the same kitchen, allowing for the potential of cross contamination. Our baking equipment comes in contact with products containing gluten; therefore our cupcakes cannot be certified as a Gluten–Free product.
