Restaurant Review: Husk Charleston, SC

Husk

This award winning restaurant is located in Charleston, SC. They specialize in Southern Cuisine.  Hucks is a gluten-free dream.  They have many offerings that are gluten-free without any changes to these dishes.  They will also adjust a dish to make it gluten-free.  It is located in the gaslight district.  The big porches are great to sit out for dinner and add to the ambience.  It’s definitely worth a try.

Bakery Review: Piece Love & Chocolate

PLChoc2

If you are looking for an amazing GF treat, and are in the Boulder area, then you must stop in to visit Piece Love & Chocolate.  They have many great Gluten Free treats such as their cupcakes, cake, cookies, and more.  This is my all time favorite gluten free bakery!  (Well, it does compete with Bio Sphere in Paris, France.)

PLChoc1

The cake at Piece Love & Chocolate was incredible moist, had great flavor, and was not too sugary.  Finding a moist GF cake is sometimes finding a “diamond in the rough.”  This will be one place that I will be stopping at again when I visit my sister in Boulder.  The other highlight is that they even have non GF cake & treats so anyone can enjoy this bakery.

Product Review: Trader Joe’s Flourless cake

If you haven’t tried some of the different Gluten Free
products from Trader Joe’s then you need to find a location and
visit it!  Trader Joe’s has been making GF products such as:
cupcakes, cookies, and even flour-less cakes! We bought a
flour-less cake as an alternative to making a birthday cake.
It was pretty good!  I highly suggest trying some of the
other TJ products when you have the opportunity.  They are
wonderful for any occasion. Trader Joe’s also published a document
with all of their other GF products on it.  Check it out here:

Product Review: Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough From Pillsbury

I came into work last week and one of my co-workers told me
about this new product that she saw in the grocery store.
Pillsbury has come out a new line
of GF products.  I tried their Gluten Free Chocolate Chip
Cookie Dough.  This was just like the normal
refrigerated cooking dough that you scoop and plop on to the
cookie sheet. I think I still personally like the homemade version
better.  However, if you are in a bind for cookies
then Pillsbury could be a good
choice.

Restaurant Review: Noodles & Co- Nationwide

Recently, I decided to go into Noodles and Company to see
if I could eat anything in there.  I was in need of something
quick.  To my surprise, I found out that Noodles and Company
has changed their menu to cater to GF.  They even serve a GF
noodle that you can get with some of their pasta dishes. I like the
fact that they had the calorie count next to the dishes to help us
make good decisions.  I found out that they had quite a few
dishes that could be made GF.  When I ordered, the gal asked
me if it was because of an allergy.  When I told her yes, she
said that they would use a clean pan to prepare my food.  It
was relieving to know that some places still will go above and
beyond. Check out their website for more information: http://www.noodles.com/food/
